Since coming out of the black hole I was in after diagnosis and surgery, I began to look for people, places and things to help dissolve the many scathing emotions I had internally wrapped myself up in. Again I will say, God and prayer were the main ingredients that pulled me out of the pit. I realized He had many tools for me to take advantage of that were all around me. I began journaling every day about anything and everything. It helped to get it out and on paper. That's when I decided I'd take a stab at writing the book I've always dreamed of. It didn't happen overnight. I had also become intrigued with Oprah Winfrey's "Super Soul Sunday" series on OWN network (ch. 279 directv locally) She stole my attention many years ago when I was fat, pregnant with my son and craving whoppers from Burger King. She was so personable and real; relatable in a way no other woman on TV came close to. There's a reason she's so popular and famous.
I encourage anyone looking for that "something different" spiritually to check out her Sunday show. It has opened my mind, heart, and soul to a new way of spiritual growth and knowledge. She has wonderful teachers and speakers of all kinds with all different paths to use to ultimately get to the same conclusion; that we are all ONE. We are all made up of the same energy and we can use ourselves for the greater good. It's different, it's inspiring, it's educational, and leaves you with a sense of purpose. The show has been the main reason for the fire under my butt to fulfill my long time dream. Anyone can do it, you just have to start. Take that first step and don't let fear stop you. If you fail, you're one step closer to success. Believe in yourself. Go inside and pull out that desire you have to find your passion. Enjoy the process of building something from nothing.
