GOTCHA DIDN'T I?
Actually, I've never met a shitty nurse. This piece is to HONOR all those men and women that work so hard. The long hours, demanding and sometimes crotchety patients and still have the capacity to be kind. I'm sure there are some that get snippy, but we have to remember that they have lives too and you never know what that person is going through at that moment. So giving kindness and compassion right back to them is appreciated; whether it be at that moment, on their break, or when they get home and relax in a hot bath. You will have made their day a little brighter. Kindness goes a long way. We all know that.
I absolutely love the nurses at my oncology clinic. They are angels who give every ounce of empathy to ensure our comfort. On this day I am thankful for them. When you're scared to death the first time, or puking your guts out, or need chocolate or juice to soothe you, when things look grim, when things are going great, whatever the need, they comply and get you what you feel you need.
I have three very special nurses in my life. Two are my cancer nurses and they are phenomenal women. The other is a very good friend who makes me laugh every time she's around. So a BIG thank you and hugs to Tammy, Dawn and my little Mexican friend-Kris Crook. :) Love you all!
We could all probably take a lesson in how to treat others from them.
